# Unable to send/receive SMS

Here are the main issues that may cause you not to receive / send sms and how to resolve the issue.

1. **Your LimeCall Number has SMS capability**&#x20;
2. **Whitelisted Countries**
3. **Does the recipients number have SMS capabilities**

Let's review each:

1. **Your LimeCall Number has SMS capability**&#x20;

To check this, go to [Numbers](https://platform.limecall.com/numbers)

Identify the number in question. It's SMS and MMS capabilities will be displayed.

2. **Has the country you are attempting to SMS been 'Whitelisted'?**

Most major countries will automatically be whitelisted:

* France FR (+33)&#x20;
* Finland FI (+358)&#x20;
* Egypt EG (+20)&#x20;
* Canada CA (+1)&#x20;
* Austria AT (+43)&#x20;
* Australia AU (+61)

**Important Note**

Free trial users are can access to USA/UK trial numbers.

To access numbers for our 46+ countries upgrade to a paid plan.&#x20;

We also provide custom plans for any country that is not on the list.&#x20;

Please contact us regarding your trial for any specific country that can be enabled after a verification.

3. **Does the recipients number have SMS capabilities?**

SMS will not be delivered successfully to those numbers without SMS capabilities.
